A Report to Texas

The Meeting at Granbury

Setting the Stage. In October of 2007, the Lord, at a meeting in El Dorado, Arkansas, commanded us to open up the south, west, north and east gates of the state of Texas.  At our November 2007 meeting of the Texas Apostolic Council the Lord literally dropped the names of those gates into our laps: Victoria (South), El Paso (West), Granbury (North) and Jasper (East).  They all made sense except Granbury.  I would have picked Wichita Falls, Amarillo, Gainesville or Sherman.  I struggled with the choice until two days before the Granbury meeting.  The Lord clearly informed me that He had delegated Granbury as the north gate of Texas.  He wanted to meet us there at Comanche Peak because a gate or portal was there which needed to be opened.  Everything north and northwest of Granbury was land spoiled and violated by broken covenants, the spilling of innocent blood and idolatry.  It was land defined in history as the location of our atrocities against the Native Americans - especially the Comanche Nation.  Yes, there were atrocities on both sides but our leader (President Lamar of the Republic of Texas) had already decreed that Texas lands would be wiped clean of Native Americans.  We slaughtered their horses (Palo Duro Canyon) and nearly extinguished their food source - the Buffalo.  The land itself (which used to be covered with waist-high grass) was defiled.

Comanche Peak was a key location for the Comanche Nation.  It was a high place (mesa) used for gathering their councils and for seeking vision. Following the Council House massacre of Comanche chiefs in San Antonio in 1840, Chief Buffalo Hump came here to receive a vision which resulted in the massacres and raids in South Texas (especially Victoria and Linnville).  The Lord dealt with these issues in Victoria and Linnville when the Texas Apostolic Council met in Victoria in February.  And now on the anniversary date (August 8) of that attack against Victoria the Lord had us at Comanche Peak to redeem this place of vision.  He declared that the gates would open on 08-08-08 and a new vision filled with life and justice would be released over Texas.

The Meeting. The assignment began on Friday night ( 8-8-08). In Hebrew, the number eight signifies new beginnings and the opening of the gates.  The Lord had already made it clear that it was going to be a gathering where the gates were flung wide open and a new vision would be imparted over the State of Texas and the surrounding region. The Texas Apostolic Council met for worship and prayer in Granbury at Crossroads Prayer Center.  Pastors, intercessors and other church leaders were invited to the Friday night worship. Everything was coordinated masterfully by Merrie Cardin, Director of the Brazos Strategic Prayer Network. Ask the Lord for His richest blessings and provision over Merrie. What a gift she is to Texas!

The worship was inspiring, but there was much more than that.  In attendance was a delegation of ten Comanche Indians including two from the Comanche Tribal Council.  The evening was filled with the presence of God. The pastors and leaders in the area repented and apologized to the Native Americans for the wounds inflicted by their forefathers. Then the Native Americans apologized. Both sides accepted the apologies, and we wound up singing and dancing together in a big circle. Gifts were exchanged and everyone left hopeful and full of love for each other. We knew the gate had been opened for redemption of Comanche Peak today (Saturday, the 9th of the Hebrew month of Av - traditionally a time when the Israelites came short of God's plan). Dr. Negiel Bigpond exhorted us to be warrior intercessors with our eyes focused singularly on Jesus.  He told us that we needed to press in for the next nine days to secure the victory.  A mantle was presented to Eddie and Merrie Cardin and everyone present was anointed by the Council.

On Saturday morning the Comanche delegation and the Council went up to the top of Comanche Peak.  The land was cleansed with the ashes of repentance.  Gifts were given to the landowner and to the land.  Pastor Tom Schlueter smoked a peace pipe with a representative of the Comanches.  Music was played by a Native flutist.  The rifle dance was performed, as an interpretation of our new warfare in Christ, by Shade Large.  We shared Communion.  Negiel was again exhorted us and shared how important this time of reconciliation and peace was to the state.  It would not have to be done again. We decreed the North Gate of Texas open (the area to the north and northwest of Granbury).  It is interesting to note on the Drought Monitor Map of the following week that a band of "no drought conditions" extends north by northwest from the Comanche Peak Region.  The area that we occupied was on top of the peak among trees.  A constant westerly breeze (wind of deliverance) blew throughout our time on the peak.  An eagle was spotted.  On Friday night it was reported that rain fell in the area - but only on the peak.

Following are some observations and insights from the council:

From Laurraine Huffman:

"Texas is our inheritance for Jesus.  I felt that a new covenant was cut with the first people group at the North Gate in Granbury.  After worship and reconciliation, we became one new man.  The new covenant was manifested by the "cowboy" cutting his jeans to become like, identify with, our brothers and sisters in Christ form the Comanche Tribe.  We danced as the bride before our bridegroom and celebrated our union.  On Saturday, as we ascended to the Peak, we acknowledged the 9th of Av and declared we would go into our Promise Land.  The Comanche's would come together with us to Comanche Peak to regroup and get healed.  We were healed and reconciled so that we could open this North Gate for the King of Glory to come in."

From Ken Bryan:

"Volumes could be written on the many events of significance that occurred over the week end.  I will attempt to look at the broad scope as it relates to Texas the Prophet State.  The cross section of people gathered Friday night got to see a glimpse of the church becoming "The Church".  Without hesitation the Spirit was welcomed and allowed the liberty to do anything that was on the Father's heart.  The sequence of events built one on another until a picture had been painted on canvas of every individual in attendance leaving their seats, standing linked arm in arm and dancing before the Lord.  The open armed welcome to the Comanche Tribe members and the humble repentance of Texas for our part in wounding this tribe broke down the barriers that set the stage.  By the end of the night no longer did we have a large gathering of individuals, but we now had a body, one new man, moving in unison and allowing God to be God.  Gone were the stereotypes, gone was the agenda, gone was religion and gone was the wall that has always prevented a move of God to be completed.

Saturday morning on Comanche Peak was built on the foundation of liberty and unity that was laid down Friday night.  Gone was the arrogance of long ago when "white man's religion" labeled these people heathens and told them "white man's way is the only way".  This attitude had been replaced with honor, humility and wisdom.  Finally., Texas, as represented by the council, had stepped up and said, "Be who God made you to be and allow us to learn from you and honor you as brothers in the Lord".  The Prophet State through this prophetic act has redeemed time and opened a door for the future of this nation.

Negiel Bigpond was without question key to what transpired over the weekend.  From the sidelines you could see that he acted with such wisdom and humility that God was able to weave him into the tapestry of events in such a fashion that he blended perfectly into the pictures.

Finally, I acknowledge the true leadership role of Tom, whose tact of administering this meeting is to be soundly applauded.  What an honor to serve and be allowed to represent Texas in this event."

From Carol Jean Kirkpatrick:

"We had experienced a wedding beyond our imagination o Comanche Peak was a huge event that had huge ramifications for our state and our nation.  It was as if we were a "turtle on a fence post"...only God could have put each of us there.

I have asked the Lord what I encountered and the scripture that came to mind is this:

It hath been told thee, O man, what is good and what the Lord doth require of thee: only to do justly, and love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.  Micah 6:8

There was a sense of the Lord re-establishing His justice on the mountain.  There was Almighty God's supernatural mercy and love seen in our Native American brothers and sisters.  There was humility among the brethren.  There was the Lord's pleasure in the wind and natural environment.  When Negiel Bigpond let down his hair and instructed us to what that meant, our spirit knew it to be true.  God had finished His business for the day.  It was as if the Lord carried us as eagles from all parts of our state(s) up to a huge nest; a nest He had prepared before the beginning of time for us to dine, look out from and to declare His Presence in.

What was absent was: Judgment; tension; division; suspicion; confusion; impatience

From Merrie Cardin

"I was most amazed at the sovereign way our Father had prepared this time.  I want to share some behind the scenes things that took place that so demonstrate God's love and awesome pleasure.

  • The mantles were seen by a vision. We had no idea that a "blanket" was honoring to the Native Americans but God knew. We had no idea of the honor to us when they were received by the Comanche Nation since our history includes the giving of blankets with diseases on them. Father drew the picture to one of the intercessors, provided the means, and literally was in the stores and preparation before we arrived.
  • The humility of true intercessors never ceases to amaze me. Everyone wanted to be on the peak but when a vision came that said some needed to be at the bottom and our numbers at the top seemed limited - local intercessors were excited to serve wherever they could. The vision that sees revival beyond self is humbling to leaders. Several of these intercessors witnessed from different places a glory cloud over the peak.
  • The vision of our time with the Comanche nation on the peak had been sought and seen for 15 years. When Apostle Tom gave us a mantle with an olive tree on it and explained that it takes 15 years to bear fruit we knew we were in God's timing.
  • The depth of covenant love and honoring that was birthed in this time will not leave us. It is a permanent mantle for us all.

From Pat Evans (onsite intercessor):

"I witnessed a cloud or canopy of joy over the peak and saw it as a new generating station.  Also, the nine days of intimacy (getting to know our fiancé) is preparation/courtship and I believe the meeting in Jasper (diamond) is betrothal...our bridegroom appears in the east.

Rev. 21:  "Come I will show you the bride....The wall of the New Jerusalem is jasper, and its first foundation is jasper."

From Mary Ann Tittsworth:

"A few impressions are:

God's favor in gaining access to privately owned property

Comanche Peak is a portal and there was palpable peace on the peak.

The Comanche smoking a peace pipe with the priest from Prince of Peace (Tom)

How much of practicing Christianity is really cultural rather than Biblical

A constant breeze from the west (wind of deliverance) while on the peak

From Sara Blakeney:

"I kept hearing the word "Restoration."  Even on the way home, I kept prophetically decreeing it, "Restoration, Restoration, Restoration."  I felt like the Lord is spiritually giving the Comanche territory."

From Alice Patterson:

"Tom, your tears for the Comanche over the last few years are beginning to water the seed.  I believe we'll see the harvest together.  It's an honor to see history in the making."

From Gwen Aldridge:

"We were soooooo blessed this weekend.  Much in the spiritual realm was accomplished. We received 1 ½ inches of rain overnight!"

From Stephanie Bundick:

"In the name of Jesus, I call for the ancient gates of spiritual revival as we have not seen since Azusa Street to swing wide across this land.  I decree that the wellsprings of life will bubble up and even as deep calls to deep the ancient gates built by our forefathers will swing wide and mantles for healing, signs and wonders and creative miracles will be taken up by those who march in the new army of the Lord.  I decree that women and men and even children will take up these mantles of revival in the forms of prophecy, healing, evangelism and go forth in a double portion anointing like their predecessors Smith Wigglesworth, John G. Lake, and Katherine Kuhlman - to call for the thousands upon ten thousands for the Kingdom of God.

And we all say - Thank you Father!Drought Map

Blessings to each of you.
